UMD Nursing Parent’s Rooms

The University of Minnesota, Duluth’s Women’s Resource and Action Center in collaboration with the Commission for Women have joined forces to create access to services for nursing parents on campus easy and convenient. The following is an outline of the procedures that give nursing mothers the opportunity to breastfeed or pump breast milk and parents to feed their children when they are visiting campus.

Registration

UMD Nursing Parents Room Application:

To obtain a hard copy of the application please stop by:

        Women’s Resource & Action Center (WRAC)

        Location: 266 Kirby Student Center (Located inside the Multicultural Center)

Stop by KSC 266 and fill out a form or print one from the WRAC’s website and return it to KSC 266. Once the form is completed, you will have the ability to sign up on the schedule for a time that best suits you.

Please be advised that the Nursing Parent’s Room is reserved in the order in which we receive  reservation requests. The earlier in the semester you submit your request, the more likely you will be    able to reserve the rooms for the times and days that you desire. 

Use of the Nursing Parent’s Room

Use of Library 143 or KSC 260 will be for breastfeeding, pumping breast milk and feeding small children. When you are done using the room you will be expected to return the key to its respective location. Please make sure that the room is locked when you leave.

A refrigerator is located in the Nursing Parents Room located in KSC 266, in which you can store your milk. Please be sure to label it with your name and the date to ensure that there are no mix-up
